ComEd has been grabbing a lot of headlines with their initiative to install Smart Meters for all of their residential customers in Illinois by 2019. The “Smart Meter” will allow customers access to more data and allow participation in a real-time pricing program.
The potential positive impact of the project is tremendous, as it would allow ComEd better response time during outages, fewer instances of overcharging due to estimated usage and easier access to data for customers to use when choosing energy efficiency projects.
