Supporting the Ronald McDonald House Charities in Atlanta has been a long-standing tradition for the team at Burton. Our first engagement with one of the houses entailed a team of volunteers, led by Kay Kern, cooking dinner for all of the families staying at the house. The opportunity sparked such interest at Burton, that it became a quarterly event. Throughout the year, we would also have supply drives or blanket drives to fulfill some of the needs of the houses. Last year, in the wake of the pandemic, the opportunity to cook for these families was no longer an option. Burton continued to show support, by ordering and having meals delivered to the families staying at the house. While we know the meals are helpful, the team at Burton was still wanting to do something more, where more of us could be involved.

At our last company meeting, Kay pitched the idea of the “Burton Bucket Brigade.” She provided buckets to anyone that wanted to participate, and we were tasked with filling those buckets with items we thought a family could need. With families being responsible for some of their own cleaning, and no longer having opportunities to share toys and games with other families at the house, each person was able to be creative with their bucket. Currently, we have 23 buckets to be delivered to the Ronald McDonald House. The support by the Burton team was overwhelming! Each bucket is filled with different types of items, from cleaning and sanitizing supplies, games and cards, puzzles, arts and crafts, sporting equipment, and even some snacks and coffee. We hope that these buckets can bring some small type of joy to each family, as they battle some of their toughest days. Burton is proud to support the Ronald McDonald House Charities and will continue to look for opportunities to offer comfort to these families.
